 Pandit Shivprasad Mishra Aromatic & Organic Farm is located in Umaria District of Shahdol Division. Fully organic farming is being done in our farmhouse which is expanded about 6 acres. Under Aroma Mission CSIR - Central Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Institute, (CSIR-CIMAP) Lucknow, cultivation of aromatic plants such as - Palmarosa, Lemongrass and Basil is done and 1000 bamboo trees have been planted under Madhya Pradesh Bamboo Mission. In addition,organic vegetables are also being produced.
In a unique initiative in Shahdol division, all types of organic manures such as - Waste decomposer, germicide, mother culture, rock phosphate, organic pesticides, vermicompost, etc. are prepared in the farmhouse itself, we provide free consultation about it and also distribution of organic manures to nearby farmers.
Our aim is to encourage farmers to cultivate aromatic plants along with natural farming for growth. The above mentioned aromatic oils are extracted from the distillation method and have a good demand in the national and international market , aromatic oils are used in the perfume, cosmetic, herbal and Ayurvedic sectors. A distillation plant is being set up at our farm house to extract oil from aromatic plants, which will help farmers in the vicinity to produce oil after aromatic harvest and more and more farmers will be able to take advantage of this.
The bamboo cultivation that we are doing is also a profitable farming, which is ready for sale after 3.5 years. The government is also providing grants for bamboo cultivation. Bamboo is used in furniture, handicraft, feeding and incense sticks and many other industries and has great demand in India.
Through the organic expo, we want more and more farmers to leave chemical farming and encourage them for adopting organic farming and pursue the Swasth Bharat Mission (#MISSIONHEALTHYINDIA) with the economic and natural benefits associated with organic farming
